Hydrangea Press is an independent publisher seeking high-quality commercial fiction and non-fiction with a focus on crime, adventure, and history. Historical fiction subgenres include saga, mysteries, thrillers, and women’s issues.

Hydrangea Press is open to the publication of outstanding fiction by writers in all stages of their careers and seeks work that includes traditionally underrepresented and diverse voices. Historical fiction must be well-researched and based on real events and the lives of real people.

Our editors seek out and solicit promising work from writers at conferences and those with published magazine work, as well as from other venues.

Hydrangea is not currently accepting unsolicited manuscripts but may accept a limited number during future announced calls for submissions.

Only one title at a time will be accepted from the same author during a submission period.

Reviews for full-length manuscripts can take upwards of six months once a manuscript is requested, and all submissions are expected to be exclusive.
